How to change your Limiting Beliefs

Monday, 13 May 2024

Do you want to learn Self Hypnosis

Do you want to learn brief self hypnosis technique .

Hypnosis is a really powerful way to reprogram your deeper mind

Have a Goal in mind how you want to feel and think . What positve suggestions you want to direct to your deeper mind . For example . Feel calm , feel confident , Let go of negative thoughts. Sugggesstions for example . I believe in myself , I am confident , I fully accept and love myself . You choose

Take deep slow breath in through you’re nose , hold, breeth slowly out through your mouth . Gently let your eyes Close . Actively let all your muscles relax from your head down to your toes . Take another deep breath . And sink deeper into calmness . For a few moments feel your eyelids feel heavy , this deepens trance . Let yourself go deeper .

  Body scan .

Go down through all your muscles from head  to toes , and let all them Relax . Notice any tension in your body and let go like un- buckling a belt .

Now take another Deep slow breath and breeth really slowly out through your mouth and sink deeper into calmness in body and mind .

Now think of your goals of how you want to Feel . Eg  calm ,   Safe , Happy , confidence . Whatever emotional state you want to Feel .

Access a memory of a time you felt this positive emotion . See the memory , hear what you hear , sounds smells, connect to it . As you do Feel the good feeling from it . Notice where in your body you feel it . Connect more with it . Really focus on this calm feeling . Lock it in .

As you feel the feeling reaching its peak , put your thumb and forefinger together . Anchor Feeling .

  Future Pace

Now if you want to see yourself in a situation with this great feeling . Maybe at work or socially . See yourself how you want to feel . You decide where to future pace . Maybe focus on some positive thoughts . Maybe think about what you like about yourself the most . All your achievements. Sometimes practice "letting go of any negative thoughts and feelings" . Sometimes just imagine your body being healed by a healing energy or light .

Open your eyes and go on with your day .

You will find what works for you . You can skip some steps sometimes . You don’t always have to Future pace .

This only takes 30 seconds to two minutes . It’s a very powerful way to program your neural pathways in your brain . Sometimes just do this just to feel calm , only access a calm relaxed memory .

Sometimes just focus on all your positive thoughts and feelings.Sometimes just focus on "Letting go of any negative feelings and thoughts"

Sometimes do all of the above .

Remember deep breathing sends a chemical signal to your body and mind to relax . Neurons that fire together stay together . Your conscious mind doesnt have to "Fully believe" every positive suggestions . As you directing these powerful suggestions into your deep creative mind . Where attention goes energy flows .

Practice this once a day .

Best of luck

1 Hypnosis helps you idendtify the subconscious reasons and triggers why we over ea t, comfort eat .

Your conscious mind says "I dont want to eat anymore cakes ect" But your deeper mind says "Ah go on,they look so nice,so tasty with a cup of tea, sure its friday why not you deserve it" Or sometimes it just feels like a impulse. And before you now your eating that cake or biscuit that your intelligent mind doesnt want to do. Hypnosis helps you to identify your subconscious minds motives and inner voice. Bringing your subconscious motives into the light of your conscious mind. You cant change what do cant see.

2 . Reprogramming your subconscious mind. Using powerfull hypnosis techniques,     visualisation and suggestions directed into your deeper mind. Suggestions to"Let go of that urge to eat" "Let the moment pass" .Helping you to feel different about food. Helping you to access powerful positve emotions to motivate to STOP when full and to exercise . untill a new longterm habit is Created. Neurons that fire together stays togother.

3 . Create longterm healthy eating habits .Of course will power is needed. The mistake people make is that they only use will power. But when it waynes, the old habit kicks back in.Hpnotherapy helps you creat new habits.Remember what your mind has created your mind can undo.

Hypnotherapy helps connect your subconscious to your conscious mind.Creating more fluid brain activity. And every night as you sleep your deep minds remembers these powerfull suggestions. And like a seed they grow.Hypnosis helps open a path to your deeper mind. This is where are impulses a,urges a.programmes and limiting beliefs are.

Why Hypnotherapy is such a Powerful complete therapy

Hypnotherapy involves Talking therapy but then also backs it up with techniques to change limiting beliefs,Calm your nervous system and disolve trauma in your body.

What your mind has created it can undo

Talking therapy of course has some great benifits, but also has its limitations.Hypnosis is very effective in using direct techniques to tell your subconscious mind to Let go of these limiting beliefs and  direct power positive suggestions into your deeper mind to create new ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.

The inductions in hypnotherapy in its self can be very calming. This is so usful for someone who suffers from Anxiety issues.Helping them to get out of the fight or flght/freeze.It can be like accessing your own bodies medication.

In hypnosis you are fully aware for alot of it.It helps you access those unhelpful feelings and instead connect to postive feelings.Helping you to Feel better.Feel being the important word.

What your mind has created it can undo.

Hypnotherapuy helps you create a pathway to your subconscious mind, the control room of your mind and body.Where all your memories, beliefs and experiences are stored.

If you can see it ,you can change it.

You will be fully aware and can open your eyes at anytime.

Ive been helping clients for over 15yrs to reach their full potential and manage their emotions.

WHY HYPNOSIS IS SO GREAT AT TREATING ANXIETY

I really do believe that hypnosis is such a powerful tool for treating anxiety.Having successfully treated many clients who suffer from anxiety/panic/stress.It still gives me great satisfaction watching a client learning to control/reduce/eliminate their anxiety.
Then how is hypnosis so good for this.As someone once said to me.It really gets at the anxiety.Of  course finding out the root cause of anxiety is so important.Identifying negative self talk.Healing and reprocessing old trauma memories. Most decent psychotherapy will help you achieve this.
But the first I do with a client is help them relax. Before we do any analysis.Talking deep breaths, progressive relaxation techniques.Positive healing visualisations. Because clients FEEL anxious. Don't under estimate how useful relaxation is.
Hypnosis can really help you achieve deep states of relaxation. For some who has been suffering from crippling anxiety, its so powerful.I use a technique called revivification. This is where you emotionally relieve a memory.First Talk the client down into trance. Then the get the client to relive a happy/relaxed memory, maybe a time when they felt so safe. But its the feelings that are most important. Releasing feelings of calmness.
Clients often say that their not sure if they can do this. Its always me me smile a little.Because once you go down into trance. Its often quit easy to release these endorphin memories.Because this ability is already within us.We often do this in our waking life. When we meet friends,or watch a favourite Tv program from our childhood. It triggers a memory,a feeling.
Often I find people who are most anxious go the deepest.I think they are just waiting for someone to show them how to let go of their weight.
Of course everyone responds at a different rate..Hypnosis is not magic.Hypnotherapy helps you to help yourself. Its not mind control.
I had a client last week who went so deep so quickly. It still impresses me.He had been suffering from anxiety for over 2 yrs. After 20 mins he said he hadn't relaxed like that in over 2yrs.It was the first break he had from his anxiety. Also said he was slightly sceptical about hypnosis at first. He just tried it as a last resort.
He had tried CBT .But it didn't do much for him.
Anxiety treatments that don't do some kind of relaxation and visualisation ,I believe fall short.
Many of my clients have tried cognitive behavioural psychology. But they found it a bit dry.Don't get me wrong I use some of the CBT techniques myself. But on its own sometimes not enough for anxiety.
Hypnosis really  helps to get at the anxiety. Helping the client to work directly on calming their nervous system.
As the client starts to feel less anxious and more relaxed. Then its easier to work on deeper subconscious programmes.
Ive been working with clients for over 15years helping them toto reach their goals, face to face and online. Im a fully qualified, insured and memeber of the chpa.ie . Over the years Ive found what really works and have put all my years of experience into my hypnotherapy programes.
I hope this blog helps someone to find relief from their anxiety.Or maybe point them in the right direction.
Majority of my clients don't go past four/five sessions.Hypnosis can treat anxiety so quickly.
Of course as I say everyone is different.Hypnosis is very powerful. But its not magic. Its nothing like what you see on a stage show.
All the best and good luck on you journey.

4 Ways why hypnosis is a powerful way to lose weight.

How will hypnosis help you to lose weight.

1 Identifying and reprogramming habits.
Hypnosis helps you to access your subconscious motivations why you over eat .And replaces them with healthy ways of eating and exercising. Identifying why, where, how you over eat is so important for long-term change.
Using will power is always a part of your weight loss plan. But when your willpower wains the old eating habits kick back in.
The secret is of course is not to  just rely on will power. Creating new  eating  habits. Not using food as a way to deal with life's issues.

2 Setting goals.
Setting goals in trance. Sends instruction to your subconscious mind to find ways to create  healthy eating habits ,and now its time to lose weigh. The power lies within you.

3 Selling the benefits
Focus on all the wonderful benefits of creating healthy eating habits. You will look better. This may increase your self confidence. You will get more energy, feel better over all. Its so worth it, your so worth it.

4 Seeing yourself the weight you want to be.
Can help instruct your deeper mind what to work on. Seeing is believing to your deeper mind.

5 Getting in touch with your emotional intelligence.
In trance there is more brain connectivity. Your subconscious and conscious mind are more connected. Often people have a conflict/struggle between the two. Your conscious mind knows that eating chocolate everyday is bad for you. But your emotional mind still wants it.
In trance you have more access to your emotional mind, this is where the real powerful work is done.
You can change how you FEEL about food, not just how you think about it. Also powerful suggestions can be directed into your deeper mind to act as an impulse to remind you to, put down that cake. Think how great you will feel.
It takes on average 6-8weeks to create any new habits. After that a new healthier habit is created,
And remember habits are hard to break, especially the good ones.
Of course all change takes time and effort. There can be bumps on the road. But what your mind has created your mind can undo.

Any questions please ring or email for free phone consultation.
Best of luck

TREATING BIPOLAR DEPRESSION WITH HYPNOSIS

HYPNOSIS SUCCESSFUL IN TREATING BIPOLAR DEPRESSION
I always believed hypnosis was contraindicated for bipolar. My colleagues were taught this. But in the last few years have met more and more hypnotherapist who successfully treated bi-polar clients. This amazed me when I first heard it.
A client rang me over a year ago looking for treatment for the symptoms of Bipolar Depression. He had tried everything. He had spent over 2ooo Euros over the years on top counsellors and psychiatrists. He couldn’t work, had no leibdo and was desperate to try something new. Was on a cocktail of Meds.  Even though his quality of life was severely diminished, he didn’t suffer from any psychosis.Even when I talked about the risks of hypnosis triggering an psychotic episode, it didn’t  deter him.We had very good rapport on the phone and chatted for nearly half hour.
But I still didn’t feel confident enough to treat him.So I referred him to my supervisor.
She treated him successfully over a number of sessions. He was helped by hypnotherapy, He was back in work part time and was off half the meds. This I thought was a great result. My supervisor advised me that I would have been well capable to treat him myself.
So early this year I got an email from a client would suffers  from bipolar. He was off work and had been hospitalized twice because of his condition. So he wanted hypnosis to help him get through this without going back to hospital. He had tried a 6 week course of CBT but found it didn't really help him.Was also taking  lithium, an antidepressant  and two types of sleeping tablets.
He called his wife  "The Watcher"meaning she was on the lookout for any mania. He had a supportive family by all aacounts.Even though he was financially stable. His business was going through restructuring. And dealing with the banks was causing him great worry.
I worked with his issues like any other client would had depression and worry management problems.
He responded really well to hypnosis and was a great hypnotic subject. His depression was stubborn and hard to treat at times. But every week got a little better. After 4th week he really seemed to turn a corner. His wife, family and doctor were all very pleased with his improvement. He is back in work running his business part time, his worrying has greatly reduced and is off half the sleeping tabs.
Off course Bipolar is on a spectrum. And he wasn't the worst case. But had been bad enough to be hospitalized in the past.I know see him every second week.Pretty soon his therapy will end.It was great to see someone coming so far in 5 weeks. At the last session he remember before starting hypnotherapy, standing in his back garden shaking from stress. Now he felt so much better and was getting his life back. And no hospital visit.
Hypnotherapy worked where CBT didn't, even with bipolar depression.I wonder how many hypnotherapists treat bipolar these days.Thats the point of my article. Is it common, is it rare?
This makes me feel more confident in treating this issue in the future.Of course great care has to be taken. If you feel the client is prone to Psychosis, still maybe contraindicated.Or treat in close conjunction with clients psychiatrist/Gp.I think with propper care and supervision Hypnosis can help some people suffering from Bipolar.Especially with clients how have tried everything else.Once the risks to client and therapist have been taken into consideration.

Why CBT works better with Relaxation or minfulness techniques.

CBT cognitive therapy has become a very popular treatment for anxiety/depression.But doesn't always work on its own.
I get many clients into my clinic who have tried CBT but didn't work for them.Of course it does work for alot of people,CBT deals with thinking of course. My clients say"I understand about changing my thought, but just can't".Why's  this.Because anxiety/depression are feeling, emotions, not cognitive. Its so hard sometimes to change negative thoughts. So by using relaxation techniques you can reach a stage where you can find it easier to accept positive thoughts.
When a client comes into me.They feel anxious, say they just can't relax.I use alot of deep realxation techniques with them.Often a client can go really deep into trance, which is 80% deep relaxation.
I get them to relive a happy/calm memory. But also to release the calm feeling of the memory. As they do this the emotionaly relive the memory.Their body releases endorphins, oxytocin, seratonin. This is called revivification. So as they start to FEEL better they can then take in the CBT ideas.CBT on its own I find a bit dry.But with relaxation/hypnosis/minfulness can really work well.So I combine the both in my practice.
Minfulness is a close relation to hypnosis. As CBT is a close relation to sugesstion therapy[hypnosis technique].With minfulness you also combine calming the body with CBT.
I recenlty did an accredited online course with Monash university ,CBT with mindfulness. This is thought by two psychologist from Monash universiy in Australia. Its a free online course and I would recomend it.
Its on the Future learn website.
The one thing I will say about Mindful meditation.Im not a fan of consentrating on the breathing for too long. Peolpe with anxiety disorder often have issue with shallow breathing. So they should use the body as an anchor. But in general I'm not a fan of using the breath as an  anchor.Concentrate on slowing the breathing for a few moments only.Taking deep breaths of course is good.Bretah in through the nose for 5secs approx hold for 2 secs and breath out through the mouth for  7 secs approx.Big deep breaths.
I had a client yesterday who came to me with general anxiety. They had tried counselling. But didn't work for them. After 20 mins of hypnosis they accessed 8 out of 10 relaxation levels. Then I got them to look at their negative thoughts to see what thoughts would work better. She was able to disconnect from her worries.
Disconnecting from your worries is thought with minfulness. She responded so well. She was so happy. So great for me to watch.Of course hypnosis is not magic.Every one responds at a different rate.Different therapies work for different people.Deep breathing, muscle relaxation, calming your mind, visualisation. This all helps to calm the amygdala. But in this information age many therapists are combining techniques.Counsellers using hypnosis, hypnotherapist usins CBT and Minfulness ect.
I really feel passionate about this.Hope this has helped in some way.If anyone has any questions just please ask.Hypnotherapy has helped me greatly and continues to help me in my own life. Its so great that today in Ireland we are finally opening up about our mental health.
All the very best on your journey

5 Ways Hypnosis helps to treat Anxiety

Hypnosis can help with anxiety in many ways.

1.Systematic relaxation.
Whats is unique about hypnosis that it reallly helps the client to relax. To calm their nervous system.
The sympathetic nervous system is whats gets us anxious, the parasympathetic is what calms us back down.
So by using deep breathing, visualisation, positive suggestions you are helped to activate the parasympathetic.
Of course we need some anxiety annd stress in life,to keep us sharpe. But when it becomes toxic. Its counter productve. And what we practtice  get better at.

2.Suggestions Therapy
So as we relax we are more ready to except new positve suggestions. Its easier to challenge old toxic negative thoughts. Managing our inner dialog is such a powerful way to break the anxiety cycle. This is similar to cognitive therapy CBT.But sometimes with CBT clients can see how to change how they think, but not always how they feel.Hypnosis works on both.

3 Revivification
In trance you can emotionaly relieve a happy memory. Thus releasing happy hormones.Changing how you feel. Then future pacing the feeling.Seeing yourself in the future with this calm, confident feelings/thoughts.
This is a technique I use alot with great success .Clients really love this one. This is the technique that often convinces that hypnosis is for them.
Negative revivication can help you identify and change subconscious progames.

4 Solution focused
Get in touch with your .inner resources.Amplfy them.Hekp you to become solution focused.Instead of focusing on the problem. And of course being more relaxed helps a great deal

5 Hypno- analysis [psychoanalysis]
Using hypnosis to regress back to memories and events that shape our present beliefs and feelings.
Sometimes events of our past haven't been properly or fully worked through. Sometimes called the frozen present. Theses events in our past can be running negative programmes in our subconscious mind. For some reason we just cant shake a belief or feeling about ourselves. Even though logically we know they aren't true. So by accessing and reframing these events with the wisdom of now, the past subconscious programmes are identified and let behind. If you can see it, you don't have to be it.

5 biggest Myths about Hypnosis

The biggest myth about hypnosis.
1.Its not stage hypnosis. The stage hypnotist selects people who go really deep[somnambulist].Its estimated that only 5/15% people go that deep that quickly.Their totally under. So most people don't experience hypnosis that way.Infact for theraputic hypnosis to be totally under doesn't work.

2.I'm too strong willed or energised to go into trance.
This again comes from stage hypnosis.Stage hypnotist picks someone that he can control. But you don't go to therapy to lose control. You go to gain control. Its all really self hypnosis. The hypnotherapist guides you into trance.I don't control the client.I facilitate change in the client. The client does the therapy. Its not mind control. Its facilitating the client to control their own mind.

3.So What does hypnosis feel like?
When your watching tv and you drift off  and then you snap back in ,daydreaming, you can even drive in trance. When driving to work, but don't fully consiously remeber how you get there, but get there. It's because its a journey you do everyday. The point is its not a magical zonked out stateYou feel aware of your surroundings and can open your eyes at any time. It's a natural state we experience many times a day.

4.What is hypnosis?
Sometimes is called focused attention. When we close our eyes we can get in touch with our subconsious mind. This is where we focus on whats really behind our issues. Also we can the focus on solutions.Getting in touch with our inner resources.I believe we already have the ability within us.In trance you can bypass the critical conscious mind and direct suggestions into the subconsious.
5.How effective is Hypnosis
Hypnotherapy in many ways is similar to other forms os psychotherapy. But  hypnosis is used as a tool to deliver therapy.I really beleive that hypnosis can help you access the subconscious quicker than most other therapies.I is perticulary good for helping anxious people to calm their nervous system and depressed people to lift their mood.Their is more and more hard science backing up the efficacy of Hypnotherapy.I look forward to the day when myself and my colleagues don't have a "Myths of Hypnosis" section on our websites
Hope this has been helpful.I really feel passionate about the power of hypnosis and how it helps to unleash our own inner resources.

It really is systematic desensitisation of your amygdala.

Hypnosis Treatment For Depression Dublin

Hypnosis I believe is one of the best tools for defeating Depression.
Before starting any in depth analysis,I get the client to FEEL better.
Depression creates  negative hormones like cortisol.
Using visualisation,NLP,relaxation and suggestions.Hypnosis helps a client to create more positive hormones like serotonin &dopermine. It acts like as a antidepressant but without any side effects.
Even after two sessions a client's depression can be dramatically reduced.Of course everyone  is different and responds at different rates. Also  and exercise also plays a part in recovery.Hypnosis is not magic, its not like stage hypnosis.I help the client to help themselves. The client does the therapy.
I think counselling  on its own falls short. But combining the both is way more powerful.
Today often therapist are trained in many areas.
I am trained in hypnotherapy, but also use some CBT,Counselling,Minfulness.NLP and EFT.
Ive helped many clients to conquer their depression.I genuinely hope this helps to give some hope to those who suffer.
