Hypnosis can help with anxiety in many ways.
1.Systematic relaxation.
Whats is unique about hypnosis that it reallly helps the client to relax. To calm their nervous system.
The sympathetic nervous system is whats gets us anxious, the parasympathetic is what calms us back down.
So by using deep breathing, visualisation, positive suggestions you are helped to activate the parasympathetic.
Of course we need some anxiety annd stress in life,to keep us sharpe. But when it becomes toxic. Its counter productve. And what we practtice get better at.
2.Suggestions Therapy
So as we relax we are more ready to except new positve suggestions. Its easier to challenge old toxic negative thoughts. Managing our inner dialog is such a powerful way to break the anxiety cycle. This is similar to cognitive therapy CBT.But sometimes with CBT clients can see how to change how they think, but not always how they feel.Hypnosis works on both.
3 Revivification
In trance you can emotionaly relieve a happy memory. Thus releasing happy hormones.Changing how you feel. Then future pacing the feeling.Seeing yourself in the future with this calm, confident feelings/thoughts.
This is a technique I use alot with great success .Clients really love this one. This is the technique that often convinces that hypnosis is for them.
Negative revivication can help you identify and change subconscious progames.
4 Solution focused
Get in touch with your .inner resources.Amplfy them.Hekp you to become solution focused.Instead of focusing on the problem. And of course being more relaxed helps a great deal
5 Hypno- analysis [psychoanalysis]
Using hypnosis to regress back to memories and events that shape our present beliefs and feelings.
Sometimes events of our past haven't been properly or fully worked through. Sometimes called the frozen present. Theses events in our past can be running negative programmes in our subconscious mind. For some reason we just cant shake a belief or feeling about ourselves. Even though logically we know they aren't true. So by accessing and reframing these events with the wisdom of now, the past subconscious programmes are identified and let behind. If you can see it, you don't have to be it.

5 biggest Myths about Hypnosis
The biggest myth about hypnosis.
1.Its not stage hypnosis. The stage hypnotist selects people who go really deep[somnambulist].Its estimated that only 5/15% people go that deep that quickly.Their totally under. So most people don't experience hypnosis that way.Infact for theraputic hypnosis to be totally under doesn't work.
2.I'm too strong willed or energised to go into trance.
This again comes from stage hypnosis.Stage hypnotist picks someone that he can control. But you don't go to therapy to lose control. You go to gain control. Its all really self hypnosis. The hypnotherapist guides you into trance.I don't control the client.I facilitate change in the client. The client does the therapy. Its not mind control. Its facilitating the client to control their own mind.
3.So What does hypnosis feel like?
When your watching tv and you drift off and then you snap back in ,daydreaming, you can even drive in trance. When driving to work, but don't fully consiously remeber how you get there, but get there. It's because its a journey you do everyday. The point is its not a magical zonked out stateYou feel aware of your surroundings and can open your eyes at any time. It's a natural state we experience many times a day.
4.What is hypnosis?
Sometimes is called focused attention. When we close our eyes we can get in touch with our subconsious mind. This is where we focus on whats really behind our issues. Also we can the focus on solutions.Getting in touch with our inner resources.I believe we already have the ability within us.In trance you can bypass the critical conscious mind and direct suggestions into the subconsious.
5.How effective is Hypnosis
Hypnotherapy in many ways is similar to other forms os psychotherapy. But hypnosis is used as a tool to deliver therapy.I really beleive that hypnosis can help you access the subconscious quicker than most other therapies.I is perticulary good for helping anxious people to calm their nervous system and depressed people to lift their mood.Their is more and more hard science backing up the efficacy of Hypnotherapy.I look forward to the day when myself and my colleagues don't have a "Myths of Hypnosis" section on our websites
Hope this has been helpful.I really feel passionate about the power of hypnosis and how it helps to unleash our own inner resources.

Why hypnosis is so successful at treating Anxiety
I really do beleieve that hypnosis is such a powerful tool for
treating anxiety.Having successfully treated many clients who suffer
from anxiety/panic/stress.It still gives me great satisfaction watching a
client leraning to control/reduce/elimante their anxiety.
Then how is hypnosis so good for this.As someone once said to me.It really gets at the anxiety.Of course finding out the root cause of anxiety is so important.Identifying negative self talk.Healing and reprocessing old trauma memories. Most decient psychotherapy will help you achieve this.
But the first I do with a client is help them relax. Before we do any analysis.Talking deep breaths, progrssive relaxation techniques.Positive healing visualisations.Beecause clients FEEL axnious.Don't under estimate how uselful relaxation is.

It really is systematic desensitisation of your amygdala.
Hypnosis can really help you achieve deep states of relaxation. For some who has been suffereing from crippling anxiety, its so powerful.I use a technique called revivication. This is wher you emotionaly relieve a memory.First Talk the client down into trance. Then the get the client to relive a happy/relaxed memory, maybe a time when they felt so safe. But its the feelings that are most important.Releasing feelings of calmness.
Clients often say that their not sure if they can do this. Its always me me smile a little.Because once you go down into trance. Its often quit easy to release these endorphine memories.Because this ability is already within us.We often do this in our waking life. When we meet friends,or atch a favourite Tv programe from our childhood. It triggers a memory,a feeling.
Often I find people who are most anxious go the deepest.I think they are just waiting for someone to show them how to let go of their weight.
Of course everyone responds at a different rate..Hypnosis is not magic.Hypnotherapy helps you to help yourself. Its not mind controll.
I had a client last week who went so deep so quickly. It still impresses me.He had been suffering from anxiety for over 2 yrs. After 20 mins he said he hadn't relaxed like that in over 2yrs.It was the first break he had from his anxiety. Also said he was slightly sceptical about hypnosis at first. He just tried it as a last resort.
He had tried CBT .But it didn't do much for him.
Many of my clients have tried cognitive behavoural psychology. But they found it a bit dry.Don't get me wrong I use some of the CBT techniques myself. But on its own sometimes not enought for anxiety.
Hypnosis realyy hepls to get at the axiety.Helping the client to work directly on calming their nervous system.
As the client starts to feel less anxious and more relaxed. Then its easier to work on deepers subconscious programes.
I hope this blog helps someone to find relief from their anxiety.Or maybe oint them in the right direction.
Majority of my clients don't go past four/five sessions.Hypnosis can treat anxiety so quickly.
Of course as I say everyone is different.Hypnosis is very powerful. But its not magic. Its nothing like what you see on a stage show .Rather the hypnotherapist helps you to help yourself .Facilitates change.
All the best and good luck on you journey.

Hypnosis Treatment For Depression Dublin
Hypnosis I believe is one of the best tools for defeating Depression.
Before starting any in depth analysis,I get the client to FEEL better.
Depression creates negative hormones like cortisol.
Using visualisation,NLP,relaxation and suggestions.Hypnosis helps a client to create more positive hormones like serotonin &dopermine. It acts like as a antidepressant but without any side effects.
Even after two sessions a client's depression can be dramatically reduced.Of course everyone is different and responds at different rates. Also and exercise also plays a part in recovery.Hypnosis is not magic, its not like stage hypnosis.I help the client to help themselves. The client does the therapy.
I think counselling on its own falls short. But combining the both is way more powerful.
Today often therapist are trained in many areas.
I am trained in hypnotherapy, but also use some CBT,Counselling,Minfulness.NLP and EFT.
Ive helped many clients to conquer their depression.I genuinely hope this helps to give some hope to those who suffer.
